Begin your child's early learning journey at Nest

Welcome!

Nest Montessori Children's House is a family-operated long day care centre located in Everton Hills. We provide exceptional care for children aged 15 months to 6 years.

By embracing the Montessori approach to education and care, our Montessori environment ensures an inclusive, inviting and safe environment for children that fosters creativity, critical thinking and a lifelong love of learning. Our spaces are purposely designed to be child-centred and guided by experienced and caring educators.

We have created a warm, loving community where young minds can thrive and we look forward to welcoming you too!

"The essence of independence is to be able to do something for one's self" Dr Maria Montessori

WHY CHOOSE MONTESSORI?

To us, choosing Montessori means investing in a unique, child-centred educational approach that focuses on nurturing each child’s natural curiosity and desire to learn. At Nest Montessori, children engage in hands-on, experiential learning activities that foster independence, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

With carefully prepared materials and activities, children are free to choose their own work and collaborate with peers in a mixed-age setting. This setup mirrors real-life social dynamics, helping children learn to work together, mentor one another, and develop strong social skills. The Montessori approach also emphasises respect for oneself, others and the environment, fostering a sense of responsibility and community.

Another key benefit of Montessori education is the individualised attention each child receives. Montessori educators, or guides, closely observe each child and provide support tailored to their specific needs and interests. This personalised approach ensures that every child’s unique learning journey is honoured and nurtured. Children are encouraged to take ownership of their learning, which builds confidence, self-discipline and a sense of accomplishment.

At its core, Montessori education prepares children not just for academic success, but for life. It cultivates a lifelong passion for knowledge, an appreciation for diversity and a commitment to personal and social responsibility. Choosing Montessori means choosing a holistic education that prepares children to be capable and compassionate, independent and confident, ready to contribute positively to the world around them.

In the words of Dr. Maria Montessori:

"The greatest sign of success for a teacher… is to be able to say, 'the children are now working as if I did not exist'."

OUR PHILOSOPHY

At Nest Montessori we are guided by the principles and values of Montessori education, which emphasise the development of the whole child — academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. Our philosophy is grounded in the belief that every child is a unique individual with immense potential, and our role in as guides is to nurture this potential through a supportive and stimulating environment.

We believe in fostering independence, creativity, and a love of learning in each child. Our carefully prepared environments provide a rich array of hands-on materials and activities that encourage exploration, discovery, and self-directed learning. By allowing children to learn at their own pace, we respect and honour their individual growth and developmental stages.

Our mixed-age spaces create a dynamic and collaborative community where children learn from and with each other. This promotes social interaction, cooperation, and mutual respect, helping children develop strong social skills and a sense of belonging. We value the role of the educator as a guide and observer who supports and inspires each child's learning journey, rather than directing it.

We are committed to instilling a sense of responsibility and leadership in our children. Our emphasis on respect for oneself, others and the environment helps develop compassionate, empathetic and socially conscious individuals. We believe that a Montessori education prepares children not just for academic success, but for life, equipping them with the skills, confidence and love of learning they need to navigate an ever-changing world.

In essence, our aim is to support your child's journey in becoming a capable, confident and compassionate individual who is equipped to make meaningful contributions to their communities and the world.
